Losing a romantic partner or friendship can be so painful, confusing, and scary. Many people feel stuck in how they should feel or how they should 'move on.' Let's navigate this winding road together.

Therapy Sessions
My Approach

We'll start by developing a sense of safety for you in the time and space we share - before we dig into the deeper layers of your story it's important you feel secure with me. We will hold a manageable pace as we process the roots from which you've grown - your family dynamics, your values, the impactful experiences that are imprinted in your unique identity.

When you're struggling, scared, or lost, we will focus on grounding you through compassionate insight, self-care, community, and empowerment. We're guaranteed to hit bumps in the road, but that's okay - we will learn how to deal with them with confidence and flexibility. While I may share with you specific tools and techniques, a lot of our work will be through honest dialogue, emotional expression, body awareness, understanding of your personal and relational patterns, and a marriage of your values and your unique stride through life.

About Me

Hi, I'm Veronica, licensed marriage and family therapist in Sacramento. As a BIPOC therapist it's a privilege to sit across from other humans in their deepest vulnerability, especially those minoritized in our society, and those who have received the message that you shouldn't go to therapy, that you should just "toughen up" and get through it.

Past painful experiences in my own life and the desire to understand and practice the process of healing is what inspired me to step into the mental health field. Relationship issues are my specialty - what lights me up in my work! I believe connection and community is essential to health and wellness - including a compassionate relationship with yourself.

I'd love to talk with you about what you want your health and wellness to look and feel like - let's get you there.

Getting Help

Whatever you're going through, know you don't have to face it alone. It takes great courage to accept support with carrying your pain (even if you've received messages that said otherwise).

Therapy is an investment in your wellbeing, your relationships, and your future. You can show up as you are - sad, mad, confused, imperfect - whatever.

YOU'LL KNOW YOU'RE READY FOR THERAPY WHEN...

  • You're determined to create change, even if it may be uncomfortable at times

  • You're willing to embrace vulnerability - think about, talk about, and face the tough stuff (at a manageable pace and in small bites, that is)

  • You're committed to the process - showing up, being honest, and participating to your fullest

  • You're ready to be curious - about yourself, your past, your future, your hopes, your struggles, your flaws (we all have them), your patterns, and your relationships

  • You're ready to develop more self-compassion - to practice nonjudgment, acceptance, and kindness toward all dimensions of yourself

Let's talk and get you to a more grounded, hopeful, and secure space in your life.
